Winston Blazer, TVPOA CEO
As we are faced with these unprecedented and uncertain times, I want to take time to assure you that TVPOA remains fully functional, stable, and capable of meeting your needs. While our operations may look a little different, we are committed to serving our property owners throughout this challenging time.
To comply with social distancing recommendations and protect TVPOA staff, we have adopted a modified work schedule that allows essential staff to rotate onsite shifts, use sick time, and work from home. During this time, some responses to inquiries or requests may be slower than normal. Also, certain non-essential functions have been suspended, such as leaf and brush pick-up, mulch delivery, and non-critical maintenance. The POA Administration office and the Welcome Center remain closed to visitors, though limited staff will be onsite during regular business hours to serve you via telephone, drop box, or the Welcome Center drive-through.
As you read in our CFO Parker Owen’s article last week, POA staff has been working diligently on a contingency plan during these unchartered times. We ended 2019 in a strong financial position. However, it is better to plan than to be caught off guard. Because some aspects of our normal business model will need to be modified, this contingency planning is essential to help guide our financial forecasting and decisions as this situation continues to unfold.
Following the temporary closures of the Recreation facilities, we have suspended all regular monthly billings for Recreation memberships as of April 1st. This suspension applies to all family and individual memberships paid through monthly auto-draft. Annual and 6-month memberships will be extended for the length of time our facilities are closed. We will resume billing upon the reopening of our Recreation facilities. To comply with federal recommendations, all Recreation facilities, including our racquet sports courts, will be closed through April 30th. We will notify you in the event these plans change.
We are aware of the strain these closures put on our Tellico Village community, especially for those residents who are active participants in our fitness programs. We encourage you to take advantage of safe outdoor activities such as hiking, walking, or golfing, but urge you to keep a safe 6-foot distance from others when engaged in these activities.
Our Golf Department continues to go above and beyond to operate safely during this time, with new procedures such as electronic check-in, push cart rentals, single riders in golf carts unless from the same household, and other adjustments to keep everyone safe. We ask that all golfers maintain a 6-foot buffer and avoid congregating at any time. Please understand that if these rules are not followed, our Golf Department may be forced to halt operation.
Along with most food service establishments, our Tellico Village restaurants are facing challenges as they make tough decisions about how to operate during this time. While the dining rooms are closed, curbside and delivery services continue from the Yacht Club’s Blue Heron and Kahite Pub & Grill. To see the modified menu, please click here. We appreciate your support of our restaurants and look forward to reopening all locations and resuming full operations as soon as possible.

Our Communication Department is updating this page with each new development, as well as sending out regular Tell-E-Grams and Tell-E-Flashes as needed to deliver the most timely information possible. Please stay safe!
