We have temporarily closed access to Tugaloo park because it became an unsafe situation. Last weekend, the park was utilized by large numbers of people, many of whom do not live in the Village. The playground and pavilion were closed off due to state guidelines we were following and Villagers have not been able to reserve the pavilion. The crowds disregarded our closed facilities, removed barriers, and were utilizing the pavilion and playground without observing social distancing.

We appreciate your understanding.

The Wellness Center indoor pool facility will open next Tuesday, May 26th from 12pm to 4pm. The lap pool will open for lane activities only. A maximum of 6 swimmers will be allowed in the lap pool (one per lane). Lane activities are restricted to an individual lane; however, they are not restricted to lap swimming only. Feel free to water walk or exercise in any other way while remaining in your designated lane. The therapy pool will also open with a maximum of 3 swimmers allowed.

Wellness Center water activity reservations will begin each quarter hour. Reservations are required and may be obtained by calling Chota Recreation Center 1 business day prior to your intended visit. Available appointments will be scheduled in 45-minute increments. Reservations will be taken Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm at Chota Recreation Center at 458-6779.

No shared equipment will be provided at this time. If you need water weights, kickboards, or noodles, please bring your own. Locker room facilities will not be available at this time. Swimmers are expected to arrive prepared to swim and leave promptly following their scheduled time. Showers and changing of clothes must be done off site. Pool areas will be monitored and disinfected regularly.

Upon arrival, all swimmers will be asked to wait outside the Wellness Center to complete a series of questions. Members will then enter through the pool lobby. Swimmers will receive a 5-minute warning before the end of their swim period. At the end of your 45-minute reservation period, please exit through the side door into the back hallway and follow the hallway to the side door beside the fitness classroom.

As always, your safety is our top priority. If you do not feel safe in any of our facilities, please continue to stay at home. Outdoor pool opening and indoor water exercise class information will be published soon. Stay tuned for more opening announcements next week.
